Venny's Public

Venny's Public is a gelding foaled in January 2001.  Venny is by Ventriloquist out of Her Public (Delaware Chief) and is a Calbred.  Venny had a short but very distinquished racing career.  His last race was September 28, 2005 and he raced only in the premier Southern California circuit.  Venny had ten starts and hit the board an incredible 7 times, 3 wins, 3 places and one show!  Venny raced against such distinquished names as Proud Tower Two and Mr. Ching and earned over $130,000 in his ten starts.  Venny has been adopted by Half Halt Farms!

Karin recently went to visit Venny and he was out to pasture and enjoying himself with his buddies.  He decided to show off by rolling around on the ground.

Heidi adds this quick update:

Venny is doing great!   He is quiet, well behaved and easy to work with.  Unfortunately, he does not move very well but we are hoping that he loves to jump.  He has a teen riding him and is starting to learn to jump.  He is very sweet and we are really attached to him.  Since he is big and quiet, he will make an excellent school horse. He seems really happy and healthy.

Thank you for letting us have precious Venny.  We are really enjoying him. 

Update:  Unfortunately we have some very sad news on Venny.  In September 2008 Venny exhibited symptoms of colic and did not respond to initial treatment. He was taken to an equine hospital for exam and treatment. His condition deteriorated and his prognosis for a quality of life was poor. After consultation with the attending vet, the decision was made to end his suffering.  We will all miss Venny but know he was loved and lived a very peaceful and happy life during his time at Half Halt Farms.
