Summer Scuffle (Click here for Past Performances)

Summer Scuffle is an almost 5 year mare that was broke on the track and had one race at Golden Gate Fields. Her performance was unplaced and by all indications she was not cut out for racing. In an off track TB this can often be a good thing, meaning she has not endured the rigors of racing. She is sound and as her one and only race was in September 2008 has had plenty of time to forget about track life altogether. She is approximately 15.2 and is very sweet and sane. Summer also hauls well and is good in new places. Ridden in the ring and we are told she has a change. She was also ridden on the trails/streets of Norco by a 9 year old boy.

Summer is a beautiful roan mare by the great stallion Siberian Summer. She has been trained and ridden under saddle both western and english.

For the time being Summer has just been hanging out for 6 months waiting for someone special to take her home so is not at all fit right now for riding. However, as she is sound and given her character getting her going again would be no problem. Summer is located in the Southern California area.

Update - December 2009

Just in time for Christmas, Summer was adopted and will soon arrive at her new home in Northern California. We thank our new friends Ann & Robert for taking this lovely mare into their hearts and lives.

Summer has arrived safely at her new home in the most Northern tip of California. Her journey was long, traveling from the most southern part of California near San Diego to the most northern area, almost at the Oregon border. However, she arrived safely and allowed Ann to blanket her for it is quite cold in Loleta this time of year and then blissfully ran about her paddock. We would also like to thank Ray of JDC Farms for such a professional and caring haul and for his being able to handle a last minute arrangement. We look forward to updates.

Update - March 2010

Summer arrived at her new home thin and nervous but as the last two pictures show has blossomed into a well adjusted mare carrying very good weight. Thank you Ann & Robert for giving Summer such a loving home. She certainly looks content!!
