Warning Zone (Click here for Past Performances)

"Warning Zone" has come home to Kimberlee Farms and was quickly renamed "Ozzie." Ozzie arrived in mid April 2010 and is already enjoying his new life at Kimberlee Farms. He stepped off the trailer a perfect gentleman. Thank you to top trainer, Kristin Mulhall for placing this special horse in our care. He was retired a multiple graded stakes champion and earned nearly $350k in his career. He will now enjoy lots of love, carrots, and most likely a career as a hunter.

After Thoroughbreds have completed their race careers, they are often ideal candidates for another vocation. To call attention to these horses' second career possibilities, nationally-recognized Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital has created a series of annual awards, the first of which will be presented to the top Thoroughbred sport horses of 2009. Divisional awards, named for legendary Thoroughbred sport horses, will be given to those Thoroughbreds who were the top achievers in 2009 U.S. Equestrian Federation (USEF) competitions in the following disciplines: Hunter (Stocking Stuffer Award), Jumper (Touch of Class Award), Dressage (Keen Award) and Eventing (Antigua Award). The USEF is assisting in the award selection process by tabulating the points earned and verifying that the winners are Thoroughbreds. The divisional honors will be awarded at the USEF's annual Silver Stirrup Awards Banquet in January 2011. It is our desire and goal at Neigh Savers that one day one of our horses hint hint Ozzie will make it onto that list.

Kimberlee Farms owner, Kim von Disterlo, has fallen in love and vowed to keep Ozzie at the farm. She aspires to showing him in Hunter Hack classes and Rusty Stirrup. As a horse who has given so much of himself, he will enjoy a quiet life and a special woman to love him forever.

Trainer Kristin Mulhall was pleased to donate him to Neigh Savers and says: "Good luck with him!! I am so happy you got him and guarantee you will love him!!! He has the smoothest canter!!! And is a incredible mover as well!"

In his biggest graded stakes race to date, Warning Zone, running fourth along the inside, had all the room he needed with Hall of Fame jockey Mike Smith guiding the way when asked to to go. Said Smith: "So I went for it and it worked out. (Warning Zone) was sitting on a big race and he really looked the part, too. You can't go far enough for him. A mile and one-half, a mile and three-quarters, he loves it."

Warning Zone earned $97,200 for his fourth lifetime win in 15 starts while ending a seven-race losing streak. He has banked $341,310 in his career. Edward P. Evans bred Warning Zone, who sold for $60,000 as a yearling at Keeneland in September 2005 and is out of the Storm Bird mare Migrate.
